Seven songs I am listening to right now….

1. Jackson - Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash
Anything at all by Johnny Cash can be found in my playlist on any given day. I also love Cocaine Blues, Folsom Prison Blues…my cell phone plays Ring of Fire when The Husband calls.

2. Heaven Here and Best Deceptions - Dashboard Confessional
Also almost anything by Dashboard Confessional…no, I am not 16…no, I am not emo…and no, I do not think Chris Carraba is hot. I just love the freaking singability of every single song. They all beg for me to sing them. They do. Shut up. Don’t judge me. The Husband and I just saw DC in October. It was at a college. We were like the chaperones…at least 10 years older than everyone…and stuck out quite a bit due to our complete lack of skinny jeans and black eyeliner. Had a blast though. Have a few garbly video clips recorded in my cell phone that I won’t erase. The Husband mocks me each time I listen to one.

3. About a Burning Fire - Blindside
What can I say about Blindside? You should listen. You should. They are loud. I have loved them for years and years…well, not quite that long. Saw them at The Bluebird Theater in Denver right after we moved to CO. Like the first few weeks after we moved. Got lost in Denver. Arrived just in time for their set. Woo hoo. The song I listed is only one of my favorites, but I was keeping with the meme…I have listened to About a Burning Fire most recently.

4. Mighty Little Man - Steven Burns
Yes, me with the guy from Blue’s Clues again. No, I do not have a crush on him like millions of other moms. I just enjoy the song. Really.

5. Steady As We Go - Dave Matthews Band
Oh, the love I have for Dave Matthews Band. Have seen DMB shows several times. Most recently, The Husband and I saw them at Red Rocks when we lived in CO. That was pretty stinkin’ cool. Anything at Red Rocks would probably be pretty cool. But anyway, alas I am no longer a college student, nor do I smoke pot…but I loves me some Dave Matthews Band. Oh yes I do.

6. Bubbly and The Little Things - Colbie Caillat
Found her on myspace. She has a very pretty voice. The Girl loves the song Bubbly. The Girl likes anything girly.

7. The Kill - 30 Seconds to Mars
I like to sing this…loudly. BURY ME! BURY ME! I AM FINISHED WITH YOOOOOU! You should try it.

Throw in a little Milkshake, Bottle of Sunshine or Boom Boom and the hideous Disney Princess CD demanded requested by The Girl in the car, and there it is. I don’t think it accurately represents my musical taste…just a small portion…but the meme asks what I am listening to right now, right? So stressful. Music is such a big deal. So much was left off. Etta James, Billie Holiday, Elvis, Rage Against the Machine, Beastie Boys, RunDMC, Public Enemy, Violent Femmes, Primus, Matisyahu, Operation Ivy, The Ramones, Willie Nelson, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jane’s Addiction, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Zeppelin, Blink 182, Blondie, Sublime, NoDoubt (and I don’t mean Gwen Stefani solo - puke), Beck, Weezer, Harry Connick Jr., Bob Marley, Sex Pistols, Pink Floyd, Van Morrison, Janis Joplin…Ack! Even my bonus list can’t contain it all. I need an easier meme…like favorite color. Does anyone want to know my favorite color?
