So I have been flip lopping back and forth with my blogroll. One day it’s in my sidebar, one day it’s AWOL. My blogroll went the way of the dinosaur when I started using Google Reader. Feedreader beautiful. Blogroll extinct. I just feel that it doesn’t really represent the blogs I read. I don’t keep it updated, and it takes up lots of real estate in my already overcrowded sidebar. But it’s comfortable. A blogging staple. My blog feels naked without it. To blogroll or not to blogroll? What do you do? Lay it on me.

When Jessica at Oh, The Joys had her meme explosion, I found myself tagged. The name of the game was to list five blogs that I like, but have never linked to before. Hmmmm…..this was a tough call. There are so many.
1. This Mom - written by a mom with a child on the autistic spectrum. Kyra expresses her thoughts, feelings, and opinions so clearly, openly, and eloquently. Always makes me think.
2. Reality is Overrated - while this blog doesn’t have one certain subject that it focuses on…okay, it has no real subject that it focuses on….I love it. Happily Anonymous makes me laugh everyday….with posts like this one.
3. Schuyler’s Monster - I love this blog. I love it. Schuyler is beautiful, and strong, and smart. She is taking on the world with more determination and courage than a whole bus load full of your average adults.
4. Phat Mommy - a new addition to my feedreader. A homeschooling mom I can relate to.
and also In the Trenches of Motherhood - I read the blog and I still don’t know how she does it! Most people probably know her from here as well.
5. Her Bad Mother’s Basement - Love HBM. Love the Basement. People in sometimes heartbreaking…sometimes infuriating situations. People flooding the comments with support and caring advice. You can’t go wrong there.
Ok, so I cheated and snuck (sneaked? snook?) in an extra. Sue me. And since I am bucking all blog traditions, what, with ditching the blogroll and all…I am going to thumb my nose at standard practice yet again. I’m not tagging anyone. Nope. By all means, feel free to take this meme and run with it. I would love to see what blogs you love…….But I tag no one! No one! I know, I ‘m a rebel.

Hey Mel, I need to take a hint on the sidebar real estate issue since every freaking one of my posts is listed. Sheesh. I just looooove thinking about going into my code to figure out that one — let alone what the reader thingy is all about. What a dork, huh? And tomorrow, I’m catching up on being tagged about 8,000 times. That’s what I get for taking a few days off.
