I’m Feeling Quick and Easy

June 18th, 2007 · 11 Comments

I’m going to post some pictures instead of actually writing something. What? What did you think I meant? Sheesh. During my hiatus, The Girl had a birthday. She is four, going on fourteen.

The Girl and two friends painted at a ceramics place and then went to the salon for hair and nail beautification…

Then there was pizza and cake. This here cake was made by my own two hands.

Later in the week, we took the train to the petting zoo…

…where there was much squeezing and “loving” of the animals. This particular guinea pig actually did take quite a liking to The Girl for some reason, and happily cuddled in her lap for a good 15 minutes. Perhaps it was in a trauma induced coma.

What petting zoo is complete without an emu? Check out the face on The Girl.

Right after this picture was taken, the handler told The Girl that the cockatoo knew many tricks…one of which was to poop on command. The handler then said “Poop!” and The Girl tweaked. Priceless.

On the way back to the train, the kids checked out this jail cell. Oh, to have one these at home!

A few more things, with bullet points, because I am quick and easy, remember?

  • There was a little girl about three years old at the petting zoo carrying around a Louis Vuitton purse. I kid you not. A three year old. With a Louis Vuitton purse. At a petting zoo. Ahhh, California. Ooookaaay. (Please note price of said purse.)
  • The next time I post pictures, they will most likely have been taken by my fancy, supecool camera. For those of you playing along at home, that means I chose the camera over Blogher. :( I did so because the kiddos are both having a bit of a hard time (understandably) due to the loss of this guy. The Girl, especially, would not fare well with me leaving for a few days. Could one of you lucky attendees please stalk Kristen, Izzy, and Jessica for me?
  • The memorial service is this weekend, so my blogging will, most likely, be this sucky for the next week.
  • Nothing more to say here. It had already added this little dot for me and I felt obligated to write something.

Oh.My.Gah. She is the cutest thing ever. The hair. The tiara. The nails. Oh Mel. You are in trouble. Trouble. I think I would fall over and DIE if Helene ever sat still long enough for someone to curl her hair….

Wow. She’s gorgeous! And 4, going on 14? Sounds exactly like my kid.

Well, what trip to the petting zoo is complete WITHOUT a $600 Louis Vuitton purse? I mean, what a big day out! Besides, it looks fantastic in the battery-powered child-sized Mercedes Benz. ;)

The Girl is gorgeous. And kudos to you for the totally cool cake (which I have to work reallllllllly hard to want to make) and especially the “going on 14″ part.

The purse? What is UP with that? I notice when dropping the kids off at school in the morning that all the girls have ditched their backpacks now and have begun to sport these shoulder bags instead. I’m thinking their necks and shoulders are going to be way sorry in a few years. *sigh* But what do I know, right?

Hugs to you — hearts, too.

And total congrats on the camera!!!!!
