She will be five soon.
A Big Girl.
She has been having a difficult time figuring out what that means for her.
Tantrums. Tears. Attitude.
I keep reminding myself how difficult it must be to grow up. To try to discover out how to be your own person with only five years of experience.
So go on, Babygirl, and find your place in this world - find yourself…but know that if it all becomes too much for your little soul to take on alone, that I am always right here behind you, waiting to help you find your way.

Great photo. Great letter. I hope your daughter will read these things you post when she is older. I would love to have a journal of things my mother said when I was growing up.

“…To try to discover out how to be your own person with only five years of experience”
Heck… I still struggle with this some days and I’ve got over 25 years experience.
And that is a gorgeous photo!

I see that photo and the word that comes to mind is ‘grace’. I see grace and gracefulness in her future babe.

There must be something about almost-five. We’re going through that here as well. Beautiful photo, and a good reminder for me to have patience.

Five years of experience is quite an accomplishment for your lovely girl, mel. Heck. I’m working on a pack of decades and still can’t get it right.

Abby is going to be turning five soon too. It seems to be a hard age, with kindergarten looming in the future! Last night Abby nearly had a nervous breakdown about the idea that she was going to grow up and get old and that everyone would eventually die.
