So The Girl has the stomach flu. Yes, she is sick quite a lot, thanks for noticing. She has pretty much always been a germ magnet….much to The Boy’s dismay. As usual, The Boy has evacuated the premises. Someone is throwing up? Go to Mamaw’s. Go directly to Mamaw’s. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. I can’t really blame him. Who likes puking? No one, right? But especially not The Boy.
So the stomach flu (and all of the mounds of disgusting laundry that go with it) is never really welcome…but the timing of this virus is particularly bad. You see, The Girl turns five on Saturday. We are having a party. Thirty people are coming to our house. Please pray this is one of those 24 hours dealies. Even if it does pass in time for her to overdose on cake and other sugary treats, I have no clue how to complete everything that needs to be done for this shindig. The Husband is about to keel over from picking up the slack…shopping for party food on his lunch hour, running to get dinner, mowing the lawn….all after a full day of work. But he will be working out of town until Friday evening. Gah. That gives me approximately 48 hours to clean our pigsty of a house, prepare the party food-type stuff, take The Boy to the tutor, finish barfy laundry, and still feed and supervise the kids….that is, if I don’t catch this bug myself. Oh, please don’t let me catch this bug myself. My bathrooms are too repulsive for me to even entertain the idea of laying on the tile while cursing modern science for not have a pill for this crap. And it is crap. Super crap. The poor Girl was moaning in her sleep this morning. How sad is that?
So yeah. Hoping and praying that this stuff passes quickly and without dragging anyone else in. So what are you doing this weekend? Want to come do some of my laundry? No? Fine. Be that way.

Bummed about the situation, but happy that something finally made you get back into blogging again. Because I know for a month there you were totally sitting on your butt, watchin’ soaps and doing nothin’. Nice to see you take a break from all of that and throw us a bone.

Bring the laundry over, I have so much anyway I won’t notice it.
Or if you have a washing line hang it all out and hose it down…
Chuck everything into one room and shut the door.
Good luck babe. Major suckage with the timing isn’t it!

Totally know how you feel. My daughter was puking last weekend and was at the hospital yesterday for chest x-rays. Turns out she has pneumonia. UGH is right!
Good luck getting it all under control for her birthday. I hope she has a wonderful party!
