Love Thursday - Here Comes the Sun

After a very traumatic birthday experience….The Girl is as good as new.

I really don’t have it in me to relive the actual birthday trauma in detail….let’s just say she spent the whole day in her room, puking…while 35 people partied in my backyard. My head exploded approximately 4,000 times, and we narrowly avoided another trip to the emergency room. I swore close to 2,000 times, and cried in the my closet once, and my garage once.

The Girl was feeling better, and had been for a day and a half, or we would have canceled the party …but….three hours before the party, she took her very strong…very, very strong…antibiotic on an empty stomach (long story) and sent herself into pure gagging, retching hell for the next 8 hours. Good times. She did manage to drag out of her room long enough to blow out her candles….but didn’t have any cake until two days later.

It wasn’t all bad. She opened her presents, propped up on her pillow, sweet loyal friend by her side, and declared it to be the second best party ever. That is a sad, sad commentary on her party experience, right there. But we’re moving on….she is all ready to get her ears pierced, as promised, which, come to think of it, could very well have me crying in the closet again…only this time, her Daddy will be with me.

What a shame her birthday was so sad. I’m glad she’s feeling better now.

I only just discovered your blog … you have a great “voice”. I’m looking forward to reading more from you in the future.

As for the ear piercing … one daughter did it, and I had to stay away … just couldn’t face the idea! We’ll see if number 2 wants to do the same thing when she gets a little older. I’m way too squeamish to go with her though.

Poor little thing! But, awesome that she said it was her ‘2nd best party’! Kids have a way of focusing on the good stuff, y/k? Fortunately, she’s young and probably you’ll only be scared for life with this experience!

Oh my goodness. What a day all round. Well, she’ll always remember this birthday and she put her bright face on to declare it the 2nd best party. What a champ!

You said it so perfectly on your Shutter Sisters comment…feeling yourself exhale. Hugs.

It was suppose to be a very great for her but unfortunately he was not able to celebrate her birthday well. It’s nice to know that she’s getting fine and things also getting well to both of you.

Belated happy birthday to your daughter! :)
